It wouldn't be presumptuous to call her the grande dame of drums, but somehow she's way too punky for that. Graf is undoubtedly one of the most important Swiss drummers. When the Geneva-based musician sits at her children's drum kit, her sticks seem like a natural extension of her body and every beat is political: loose, but imbued with incredible energy, she plays her self-created sets, performs, sings and screams critical lyrics and expands the whole thing with one-string guitars and other self-made instruments.

Béatrice Graf was born in Nyon/VD in 1964 and lives in Geneva. She is active as a musician and composer in various fields, including jazz, rock, contemporary and electronic music, but also theatre, multimedia, performance, art, dance, narrative or video. She has performed in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa and released recordings on various international labels. Her projects as a drummer include the groups "Four Roses", "Ester Poly" and "Country Cooking". In 2019 she won the Swiss Music Prize.
