Would you like to try out an instrument and let yourself be infected by the music fever? On our instrument course on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Titthof in Chur, our young musicians will introduce you to their instruments.

Can you already play a few notes yourself? Come by and let yourself be surprised. In the evening you can experience our musicians live on stage and dream of playing along yourself.

Slam in the workshop #31!

Just in his own words, 6 minutes of stage light.
Form: it doesn't matter, content: sausage, the main thing is: slam!

In the duel of the eloquent, up to 9 poets compete and fight for the applause of the audience in the workshop. Because the viewers evaluate the performances, determine the victory and decide who gets to take home the victory bottle.

For the eighth year, slam events await Switzerland's oldest city from September to May.
It's about a bottle of hard liquor, it's about the favor of the Chur audience, but above all it's about a great evening!

Let yourself be seduced during your lunch break: Martina Kuoni presents a book, a personality or an incident from the literary world - stimulating, entertaining and informative. Classics and forgotten authors, bay rouvailles and special locations, rebellious writers and sensitive word artists – there is a lot to discover.

The first event in this year's "Literature at Noon" series is dedicated to the Jewish poet Mascha Kaléko (1907–1975). In 1938 she had to flee Germany. In New York, as later in Jerusalem, she missed her own language throughout her life and felt homeless. Kaléko's poetry has an unmistakable tone. Her poems combine melancholy, irony and political acuity.

Martina Kuoni, born and raised in Chur, is a German philologist and literary mediator. She offers literary walks in many Swiss cities, moderates author readings, gives lectures and leads reading circles. www.literaturspur.ch/

From April 2025, the Chur City Police cordially invites the population to talk directly to the police officers in a relaxed atmosphere with the "Coffee with a Cop" campaign. The aim of this initiative is to further promote and strengthen the active partnership between the population and the police.

Internationally proven format
The "Coffee with a Cop" concept was first implemented in California in 2011 and has since established itself worldwide. The Chur City Police now joins the list of cities that are adopting this successful format.

Open ear for all concerns
At nine selected neighbourhood locations, police officers from different departments are ready to listen and answer questions in person – without a fixed agenda. The informal get-together over a cup of coffee offers space for concerns, ideas and open conversations. Of course, there is also syrup and tea for the little guests. To ensure that older people can also participate in the dialogue, the Chur city police are also visiting the city's retirement homes this year.

Proximity as the key to effective police work
A close connection between the police and the population is essential for successful police work. Through direct exchange, concerns can be identified at an early stage and solutions can be worked out together. Examples from other regions, but also our own experience, show that such initiatives strengthen trust in the police and increase the sense of security of citizens. The Chur City Police is looking forward to numerous encounters, good conversations and a lively exchange.
