Description

Merz is a tradition-steeped bakery and confectionery in Chur, which is committed to outstanding quality. Merz’s objective is to offer its guests out-of-the-ordinary taste experiences. The products are made by hand, wherever possible using local and Swiss ingredients. With great devotion and enthusiasm, the entire Merz team develop new creations which aim to surprise and delight their customers. And this dedication is honoured accordingly: in 2016, the bakery/confectionery was named the winner of the most important European industry award, “Marktkieker”, for the second time.

Description

In 1806, guild master Nutin Fiffel acquired the Haus zum Ochsen to use as a bakery. It is thus the oldest production facility in Chur’s bakery, patisserie and confectionery industry where fresh bread, biscuits, pâtisserie, pralines, chocolate, and Chur and Graubünden specialities are still made every day. One exclusive product is the Graubünden Pfirsichsteine “Original Hürsch since 1887”.
