Something is a bit crooked about Chur’s politics – at least, that’s what you might think if you took a closer look at the Town Hall. Due to its uneven ground plan and the sloping ridge of the roof, the building appears to be rather out of joint. That has nothing to do with the politics, but rather to the building’s history. After the city fire in 1464 it was reconstructed, and was subsequently renovated and extended on a number of occasions. Until 1554 it also housed the Spital zum Hl. Geist hospital. The interior of the Rathaus, with its cultural assets from various epochs, bears witness to its varied history.

Chur is the only city in Switzerland with its own winter and summer sports region, conveniently linked with the city by means of an aerial cableway. Starting point for hiking tours, mountainbike tours and the Alpenbikepark, as well as for ski & snowboard adventures, snowhoeing tours and much more....

The former parish and current cemetery church Sogn Paul is slightly increased, at the southwestern edge of the village, at the foot of the spur of the Heinz mountain. The striking building with einschiffigem nave and a rectangular choir is covered by a single pitched roof.

 The authentic medieval interior is the stage for works of art from four centuries to enter into a dialogue with each other.

Sogn Paul was a medieval parish church that was expanded by a baroque nave and the cemetery for the Barons of Rhäzüns Inside there are remnants of frecoes by the Master of Waltensburg and by a workshop of the "Gotico Internazionale". The alter is decorated by post-Gothic papier-maché copies of the alter wings of Sogn Gieri.

The little field chapel Sogn Mang was built on a hill near Bonaduz and restored in 1993. It is dedicated to Saint Magnus (Sogn Mang in Romansh). Its unique location on a wide-open field under two mighty poplar trees gives it a wonderful aura of peace and strength.
