Description

From Chur, this varied route first leads along the Plessur river to Meiersboden. There the beautiful ascent begins, which first leads to Passugg. After a short stretch on the road follows the further ascent to Churwalden on the very worthwhile "Polenweg", which was extended by Poles from 1940-44 and thus got its name. In Churwalden then follows the actual ascent on the "Jochwäg", at the beginning on a mountain road, later on forest roads through forests and over beautiful alps ever higher up to the actual summit destination - the Churer Joch. Magnificent alpine flora and views of the mountain world of Lenzerheide characterize the beautiful ascent. For the rewarding deep view down to the Alpine City of Chur and the mighty Calanda massif behind it, it is worth making the short climb to the highest point and all the way to the front.

Now follows a long descent on the other side of the Joch. The landscape and view here is no less attractive than on the other side, because now you look directly into the Schanfigg valley with its picturesque Walser villages and mountain landscapes. After the short counter-ascension, the mighty Arosa Weisshorn also shows itself from the rear side at the Hühnerköpfe mountain restaurant. The further descent follows the mountain road, past the beautiful Furgglis mountain restaurant to the Walser village of Tschiertschen. Whether in one of the mountain restaurants or in Tschiertschen itself in the Hotel/Restaurant Alpina on the large panorama terrace, a stopover is definitely worthwhile. Finally, there is the descent on the little-used mountain road to Passugg and from there back on the ascent route 255 via Meiersboden back to Chur.

Directions

From Chur ascent on the bikeroute 255 (Brambrüesch) to Churwalden. From there on the mountain road via Vargan to Foppa, where you follow the last part of the ascent on bikeroute 634 (Arosa Lenzerheide Rundtour) to the Joch. The descent is also on this route until point 1735 between Waldstafel and Furgglis. From there the further descent takes place on the mountain road to Tschiertschen and further to Passugg. From Passugg follow the initial ascent route (255 Brambrüesch) back to Chur.

Description

From the beautiful Alpine City of Chur, this varied route first leads along the Plessur river to Meiersboden. There begins the beautiful climb, which first leads to Passugg. The small village above Chur is known throughout Switzerland for the "Passugger" mineral water, which springs here from the legendary Theophil spring in the rough and wild Rabiosa gorge. The gorge is not on the route, but a short detour to the drinking hall is definitely worthwhile and recommended, because there the unruly Rabiosa gorge unfolds in its full glory. After a short stretch on the road follows the further ascent to Churwalden on the very worthwhile "Polenweg", which was extended by Polish people from 1940-44 and thus got its name.

Among other things, Churwalden is known for its adventure mountain Pradaschier and the longest toboggan run in Switzerland. A detour to the valley station, where a ticket can be purchased for the chairlift and a descent on the toboggan run is tempting (there is also a splendid mountain restaurant at the top). From Churwalden finally follows an ascent on a forest path and then a descent and traverse to the mountain road that leads to Brambrüesch. On the beautiful plateau you can not only refuel culinary, at the Brambus Center there is also a charging station for e-bikes and in the immediate vicinity there is also a moor course to see.

Finally, there is the enjoyable and panoramic descent from Brambrüesch to Chur, for the most part on forest paths. If you are technically skilled and have a full-suspension bike with you, you can also whiz down into the valley on the blue signaled freeride route in the Alpenbikepark Chur (the red and black routes are more recommended for thoroughbred downhillers). Back in Chur, it's worth taking a detour to the picturesque and car-free old town.

Directions

This loop is completely signposted as mountain bike route 255 "Brambrüesch Tour". Only the detour to the Pradaschier valley station in Churwalden is a small additional loop - as an option for a visit to the adventure mountain with mountain restaurant, toboggan run, rope park and zipline.

Description

The first part of the climb takes place on the little-used mountain road from Chur via Passugg to Tschiertschen. The magnificent Walser village is definitely worth a stop - if not during the ascent, at the latest on the return journey. The route then continues on mountain and forest roads higher and higher up into the magnificent Tschiertschen mountain world. With the Furgglis mountain inn and the Hühnerköpfe mountain restaurant, there are two worthwhile options for refreshments along the way. At the latter, the change from the e-bike tour to the hike follows. There are still about 450 meters of altitude to climb before reaching the summit of the Gürgaletsch at 2,441m. There, a wonderful view of the Schanfigg valley, the Alpine City of Chur, the surrounding Grisons mountains, as well as the Glarus Alps in a southwesterly direction and, on a clear day, as far as the Bernese Alps.

The descent follows the same route. For technically experienced mountain bikers who still have reserves, however, there are also various trail options back to Chur.

Directions

From Chur on mountain bike route 255 (Brambrüesch) via Meiersboden to Passugg. Continue on the mountain road via Praden to Tschiertschen and on mountain and forest roads via Furgglis to the Hühnerköpfe mountain restaurant. From there on foot via Tälli and Scheidegga to the Gürgaletsch summit. Return on the same way to the mountain restaurant Hühnerköpfe, as a worthwhile variation we also recommend the round hike via Stelli, Obersäss and Farur back to the mountain restaurant Hühnerköpfe. Return from the Hühnerköpfe mountain restaurant on the ascent route via Tschiertschen to Chur.

Description

You start in Chur (593 m above sea level) and ride along the Rhine on the cycle path to Reichenau, where the Anterior and Rear Rhines meet. On side roads, follow cycle path number 3 to Bonaduz (662 m above sea level). Here you can access the spectacular road through the Ruinaulta. The Rhine Gorge, with its 300-metre-high rock faces and rock formations, is also called the "Swiss Grand Canyon". Take a short break to enjoy one of the most diverse landscapes in the Alps. Over the bridge at the end of the first short descent, you will enter a short climb with magnificent hairpin bends that leads to Versam (909 m above sea level). Right at the entrance to the village, turn off in the direction of Safiental and follow the mountain bike route no. 157 "Calörtsch". Via Arezen you reach the mountain pastures near Calörtsch (1401 m above sea level) on dirt roads through forests and meadows. Here you can enjoy a particularly impressive panoramic view of the Flimserstein. Following the MTB route, a short forest path through the Calörtscher Forest (1580 m above sea level) will take you back to a road that will take you to the idyllic village of Brno (1287 m above sea level). The fast descent from Brno will take you back to cycle route 3, which you will follow in the direction of Valendas (809 m above sea level). Valendas delights not only with countless well-preserved manor houses, but also with the largest wooden fountain in Europe. From here, follow the cycle route to Ilanz (699 m above sea level), the first town on the Rhine. From Ilanz you can take the Rhaetian Railway back to the starting point in Chur.

Description

After a leisurely roll through the Graubünden Rhine Valley into the Prättigau region, the climb on the mountain road towards Valzeina begins shortly before Grüsch. The small mountain village is a typical Walser scattered settlement with numerous farms, which are far apart. After leaving the asphalt road, the climb continues through the long, wild and magnificent Valzeina valley up to Stams, the highest point of the tour. The beautifully situated Walser settlement is today only used as a maiensäss. In addition to the great view far into the Chur Rhine Valley, there is also a rustic mountain restaurant where you can fortify yourself with drinks and Graubünden specialties.

Now follows a long descent via Says - also a Walser settlement - down to the village of Trimmis. Finally, it's back to the Alpine City of Chur on a beautiful bike path through the Fürstenwald forest.

Directions

From Chur on the Rhine Route 2 to Landquart, there along the Prättigau Route 21 to the fork in the mountain road to Valzeina. Follow this to the village of Valzeina and from there on bikeroute 330 (Panorama Ride) to the "Laubenzug" junction. Here continue on the bikeroute Graubünden 90 to Stams. The descent is also along the Graubünden 90 bikeroute to Trimmis on the mountain road. From Trimmis on the Churer Rheinroute 501 back to Chur.

The ride is also possible in the opposite direction.

Description

From the tranquil village of Felsberg, this round tour leads up a forest road through open fields and later through the forest. On the descent, however, it's over with the cosiness; for this is technical from the start, steep in places and with several places interspersed with stones and with some narrow and difficult hairpin bends. If you like demanding and technical trails, this is the right place for you. Shortly before Benis Boden the trail branches off to the left and at the end there is a portion of flow waiting. The trail along the Rhine river back to Felsberg is also very fluid and fun to ride.
